Become a Volunteer

We Need You!

Thank you for your interest in getting involved with Lone Survivor Foundation!  LSF volunteers become members of our team and form a community of Volunteer Advocates that help us to spread our mission to restore, empower, and renew hope to wounded service members, veterans and their families.  If you have a passion for our service member, veteran community and want to share your love for the Lone Survivor Foundation mission, we need you on our team!

What We Do

LSF provides a succession of no-cost therapeutic retreats to service members (both active duty and veterans) and their families.  These retreats are not recreational; they are focused on providing tools to facilitate the treatment of invisible wounds:  Post Traumatic Stress, mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Chronic Pain, Military Sexual Trauma, and Care Partner Stress.  Due to the sensitive nature of our program, we keep our retreats small and we staff our retreats with only essential personnel and the best licensed mental health professionals.  We do not have volunteer opportunities at our retreats, but you can be a big part of our retreat program by helping us make sure that LSF continues to grow!

(If you are a licensed mental health professional and you are interested in working with LSF, please click here to inquire with our Program Team.)

Volunteer Spotlight

How You Can Help

We serve service members, veterans from all over the United States and from all military branches and service eras.  Our small staff is able to spread the word about our mission with the help of our nationwide community of Volunteer Advocates.  Advocates meet online and participate in advancing our mission by connecting with staff and learning how they can help us reach our goals through online and in-person advocacy.

For our Volunteer Advocates that are also available to help with operations and event staffing in Houston and North Carolina, we have local task forces within our advocacy team.  Select the option below that is the best fit for you to learn more about joining our team!

Volunteer Advocates are a nationwide community of volunteers who meet online via Facebook to engage in conversation with each other and with LSF Staff in order to spread our mission to their local communities and personal networks.

The Houston Task Force is for our Advocates who are also available to help us staff events, complete occasional administrative tasks, and attend volunteer meetings in person in the greater Houston area.
