My name is Kiki McCray and I am the Behavioral Health Administration Manager at Lone Survivor Foundation. I help applicants move through the application stages of the program process, get them scheduled, and follow-up for 3 months after the program session. I have been with the foundation for about 2 years now and I love it! I am a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, and I am Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)-trained.
I come from a military family & I watched my brother struggle with understanding his TBI and PTSD my whole life. He never seemed to find satisfaction with the VA and there were not many other options for him. This inspired me to continue my education in the mental health field to better understand how to help him. Supporting the wounded service member population was a no brainer for me. I knew that I was going to, I just didn’t know how. Then I found Lone Survivor Foundation and here I am. I love this organization because we are able to reach a large number of service members and introduce interventions to them that they may not be willing to try anywhere else. We also get to connect them with other service members who know exactly what they are going through.
We are extremely grateful for all the individuals who make our program possible. When a service member leaves the session and is able to sleep through the night or attend a fireworks show with his family-we have our supporters to thank for that. When a service member leaves a retreat with new yoga tools to cope with chronic pain-we have our supporters to thank for that. Being able to provide a fully-funded program to service members across the country is all because of our selfless, generous supporters and we thank you!
The program is growing and we are working every day to reach more and more service members. If you or someone you know is interested in attending or wants more info, please reach out to us!
