Paula Bonebrake is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a wide range of experience in the mental health field. She has specialized in providing behavioral health support to military members and their families since 2004. As a Military Family Life Consultant from 2004-2010 she worked with multiple branches of service nationwide through all phases of the deployment cycle. From 2010-2016 she developed and managed a psychological health program for the Oklahoma Air National Guard’s 138thFighter Wing, providing and managing care for members and their families as their Director of Psychological Health. Working with the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program she developed and provided psycho-educational classes to prepare service members and their families for deployment and reintegration, provided behavioral health consultations, crisis and risk management and coordination of care. She has collaborated with the Chaplain Corps for the National Guard at Strong Bonds marriage retreats facilitating psycho-educational classes and couple’s consultations. She is also trained in Psychological First Aid and has experience with traumatic event management.
Prior to working with for the military Paula worked for 4 years on a sexual trauma and eating disorders residential treatment facility specializing in treatment of Post- Traumatic Stress and addictions. Her knowledge and experience in this area was utilized in developing and facilitating annual Air National Guard trainings for the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) program. She worked closely with the SAPR in responding to and coordinating care for survivors of military sexual trauma.
