Ten Years of Lone Survivor Foundation

Retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell founded Lone Survivor Foundation in February 2010.  We’ve always remembered those whose legacy we honor through the existence of our organization, and we strive to do right by them and their families every day.

In the past decade, we’ve learned a lot about how to best serve military families.  We’ve remained focused on making the most impact on trauma recovery as we can in the short amount of time that our participants are with us for their Post-traumatic Growth Program.  We’ve added and subtracted therapeutic tools based on new research and participant feedback.  We’ve paid close attention to the short-comings of government programs so that we can help fill the gaps.  And we continue to grow so that we can reach more of the families that need us.

We have provided over 30,000 hours of no-cost therapeutic services to military families, and we are proud that we’ve been able to do that without any government funding thanks to our supporters.  It means the world to us that Americans believe in our veterans and in our mission.  We know that we have a responsibility to treat their funding with respect and gratitude, and we’ve strived to be an example of integrity and transparency within the non-profit community.

We are still growing and learning, and we are committed to never quit on those who never quit on us.  As we move forward into a new decade, we will continue reaching for excellence in all that we do.  We are so grateful for the families who have given us the privilege to serve them and for the supporters who have made it possible.
